The LCU Fund for Women's Education Call for Original Artworks for Fall Exhibition.

The LCU Fund will celebrate 160 years of supporting the aspirations of outstanding women on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Through financial panics, depressions, recessions and wars, the LCU Fund has provided access to safe, affordable housing to women pursuing self-sufficiency through work and education in New York City.

The celebration will take place from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Cosmopolitan Club at 66th and Lexington in New York - a fitting venue given its history as a meeting place for professionally accomplished women - and will feature a curated exhibition of original artworks by current and former LCU Fund-supported artists. Unlike past events, this will not be an auction. Rather, it is an opportunity for artists to showcase their work to a diverse, interested audience (we are planning for about 150 attendees).

We invite you to enter your artworks for consideration. The exhibition is thematically open-ended and may be drawings, paintings, sculptures, prints or photographs of any size. You may present up to three pieces for review by sending a digital image of each to by 12pm on Friday September 7, 2018. Please include details of the work: title, medium, dimensions and date and your contact information including phone number, email and reference to an online portfolio and / or website, if applicable. Artists will be notified of their selected piece on or before Friday, September 21, 2018.

Accepted artworks must be delivered to the Cosmopolitan Club and ready for display by 6pm the night of the event and removed at the close of the event. Artists with work in the showcase are strongly encouraged to attend. Two complimentary tickets will be provided to selected artists.

By submitting to this exhibition, you understand your work may be used for publicity purposes and you agree to comply with all the rules and regulation of this exhibition and that you have the legal right to submit this work. You also understand and agree that there is always the possibility of unintended damage to the artwork and that neither the LCU Fund nor the venue can be held responsible for repair costs or compensation for damage.

We look forward to reviewing your work!
