Yelena Dzhanova is a journalist with experience in both print and digital publications. Currently, she serves as a news reporter with Business Insider.
Before entering this role, Yelena worked at CNBC, where she reported on and produced breaking news, politics, and the occasional business story. From voting rights to communities in distress because of the coronavirus to impeachment and House Ethics violations, she has covered a wide array of topics deeply pertinent to and ingrained in today's cultural and political landscape.
She is a graduate of Baruch College, where she was its first triple major. There she studied English literature, political science, and journalism — and also secured a minor in Spanish.
During her time at Baruch, she served as the editor-in-chief of The Ticker, Baruch’s independent and student-run weekly newspaper. She studied abroad in Spain, taught five first-year and transfer seminar classes, and had nine internships, six of which were at large newsrooms like NBC News, BuzzFeed News, New York Magazine, and CNN.
